Dress

Object/Artifact

Entirely hand stitched dress, of wild lapis cotton print in red, sky blue, chalky green, yellow, and black. High waist with separate self belt, 1 3/4” just long enough for dress. High neckline with wide collar over shoulders, edged with self frill. Separate yoked bodice gathered center back and center front on fitted heavy cotton foundation. Center front opening to high hip level. No fasteners. Unlined skirt gathered evenly to bodice. Plain glazed green-brown cotton hem facing, 3/4” hem turned up onto it. Enormous imbecile sleeves, extremely long with piped seam and edge. Puped armscye.
