Three-piece day dress of brown silk twill, lined in the bodice with dark brown cotton and boned with commercial boning marked "RAPIDE Breveté illegible] 23". Standing collar and revers of dark brown silk velvet; center front plastron of gathered, dotted white net. (Center front buttoning closure under plastron, which fastens over top with hooks and eyes.) Back of bodice extends into short, box-pleated tail. Long, curved sleeves, ending in lace frill at wrist. Bodice is embroidered with white circles crossed with brown slashes, while overskirt is only embroidered at hem in front. Overskirt is symmetrical in back and pleated into center back seam, but crosses the front from low on proper right to high at proper left. Underskirt is trimmed with three velvet bands above hem. Machine sewn.
