Dress
Clothing/Dress/Costume
Infant’s dress of fine, semi-sheer cotton MID*, a fine lawn or cambric. An elaborate wheat-head pattern is worked along the hem all the way around and up the open back. None on the bodice. The waist is high, with a wide neckline gathered in the front and back on tiny drawstrings. Drawstring in the waist, separate in front and back. Short sleeves that form puffs by means of tiny drawstrings in the hems. Open all the way down the back. Side seams originally fagoted, but apparently the seams split, and were resewn almost completely covering it up except for a few inches on each one.
