Dress

Object/Artifact

2 piece dress of ivory moire and ivory silk/wool gauze1) Waist length bodice of tissue with point in front, modified tails in back, moderately low round neckline with wired standing moire frill lined with silk machine lace frill. 3/4 sleeves with short cuffs formed of moire ribbon band with flat bows. Thread ball buttons. b) Skirt with asymmetrical design— front of narrow pleated gauze between side panels of moire. Back is tissue gently pleated over bustle with a puff over the left hip. The right hip has three tiers of pointed ribbon tabs cascading to hem. Front section accented with ribbon strips draped diagonally left to right, ending in flat bows. All bows and tabs have (had) 3 silk bobbles dangling from their pointed ends.
