Bodice
Object/Artifact
Bodice or polonaise,princess seaming, machine stitched, made of Hamburg lace, a form of machine embroidery made of tiny lacy wheels- expensive. Off white or beige, interlined with matching thin cotton. Fitted to the hips, cut away at center front. Long, tight sleeves with lace edge frill cuffs. Lace border on hem. High bound neckline. Small watch pocket on proper left. Stamped silvery buttons.
