Buttonhook
Clothing/Dress/Costume
Medium-sized buttonhook with sterling handle and steel hook shaft. Sterling handle is a flat-ended tapering cylinder, perhapss repurposed as a buttonhook handle after original as a parasol handle. Simple band of roses across top of handle, with etching across body of handle diagonally. Small sprays of flowers. Appears to be a later addition to the handle rather than an original pairing with the roses. Marked "STERLING" on top flat end of handle. Area of tarnish on sterling handle above opening. Steel hook shaft removable from sterling handle. Small bit of tarnish on crook of hook.
