Object/Artifact

Infant’s cap, newborn size, entirely hand stitched linen cambric. Narrow double-layer brim with fine cotton lawn double frill across the front and bottom. Caul formed of triangular sections joined with miniscule top stitching and attached at brim with a casing and narrow draw-tie. Another casing between the front frills. Casing and flat frill at bottom in back. Narrow lawn ties.
