Entirely hand-stitched 2-piece dress made of black/white silk 'gingham' checks. Black piping and buttons. Bodice (a) - with waistband with buttons; scoop neck, back button closure; puffed sleeves formed of triangular buttoned tabs. Skirt (b) - Box pleated skirt, longer in back, buttonholes on the waistband. Back opening.
