Clothing/Dress/Costume
Dress of white cotton muslin, unlined. Deep, rounded neckline with very narrow tape drawstring running through front and tying at center; similar drawstring at back of neck. Front of bodice is heavily gathered to skirt at raised waistline while back is more fitted, and held closed with self-fabric ties attached at side-back seams. Skirt has two horizontal tucks above hem. Very full sleeves set into deep armscyes, gathering on drawstrings to form soft, large puffs. Hand sewn. May have been worn for day/morning or evening dress.
