Morning Dress

Clothing/Dress/Costume

Morning dress of very light lavender silk crepe, lined in the bodice with white cotton. Wide but shallow neckline, bound and piped with crepe. Center back closure with nine hooks and eyes. Front of bodice is fitted with a single dart on either side; whole bodice is pieced in silk layer just above waistline. Waist seam has a linen tape added to it for strength. Side back seams piped, as are armscyes and shoulder seams. Overlong sleeves are gathered to armscye and pieced at wrist. Skirt is gathered to waistline and has three tucks just above hem. Hand sewn.
