Polonaise dress of black silk taffeta, lined in the bodice with brown cotton twill. Ruched band of taffeta around neckline serves as a standing collar. Center front closure with hidden buttons, over a waist tab fastening with hooks and eyes; silk extends into long tabs at center front. Watch pocket in proper left side of waist. Long sleeves, fairly full, trimmed with ruched bands below sleeve head and around wrist. Skirt is pleated into top of center back seam. Ruched bands run down front edges of bodice and skirt and around hem. Machine sewn, with trim attached by hand.
