Glove
Object/Artifact
One pair of white kid gloves in orginal packaging. The gloves have metal clasps at the wrists, and the inside of the gloves are marked with blue manufacturer marks and sizing information. The paper package is yellow, and was sold by the Fourth Street Kid Glove Emporium at Taylor, Miller & Co. The glove manufacturer won two prize medals at the 1862 International Exhibtion, held in England, and two at the 1867 Paris L'exposition Universelle. The back of the package has the pencil inscription: "Mr. Mitchell."
