Gown, Dressing
Clothing/Dress/Costume
Adult lady's cotton dressing gown. CF opening all the way to hem, closure of buttons of MOP, none missing. Drooping shoulder line with sleeves (long) sewn into body of dressing gown with gathering at top and back. NO gussets under arms. Piping at armscye between body and sleeves. Overlay that is yoke-like or pelerine-like in shape, emphasizing drooping shoulder line. This area is covered in white soutache braiding in swirling pattern with floral sprigs in center of each panel on either breast. Yoke/pelerine panel across shoulder has a scalloped edge, with is finished with machine embroidery. Sleeves are finished with button cuff ( buttons present), also finished with the same soutache braiding details. CF opening has with same machine-finished scalloped edge, but no soutache. Hem is 2.5" deep. High round neckline. Almost entirely machine-stitched, save for the buttonholes. Small rip/tear in back of body of dressing gown.
