Chuppah
Object/Artifact
Mariseille work quilted chuppah (Jewish wedding canopy) with near near grades of white cotton, entirely hand-stitched. Possibly 2 stitchers (?). Some is very precise, the rest is a bit looser. Large center square field on point containing a basket of flowers (roses?), squares based on number 4 in each corner. Having tassels at lower corners and pal, or leaf sprig at top corners (tallit with tzitzit). Also ears of ripened corn.
