This program is appropriate for Grades 5 – 12.
Understand the impact of the Civil War on our nation and the actions New Yorkers took to engage in the momentous event. Meet Abraham Lincoln and Fredrick Douglass! Learn about the science that assisted spies, the way in which the communications throughout the war in our telegraph and print office. Experience what it was like for soldiers to be recruited and trained, and see a soldier’s camp. Listen to the music of the Civil War, and so much more!
This self-guided field trip features timed programming throughout the Historic Village. Plan for two to four hours on site.
