The body is made like an ordinary shirt with vents and underarm gussets but without reinforced areas. there is no collar, and the sleeves are quite narrow and about 3/4 length. No cuff. The ends of the sleeves are pieced. The top is scantily pleated into the body. Suitable for wearing under a skeleton suit with a chemisette.

Neck and sleeve edges are finished with tiny buttonhole-stitched scallops. Two tiny Dorset buttons and loops in the front yoke.

Entirely hand-stitched infant's shirt made of very fine linen lawn. Short and wide with a wide, straight neckline. Embroidered with linen and cotton. A meander is attached along the edges of the front and back flaps. A ‘dotted ribbon’ with a bow centered at the top along the cuffs, worked on the inside so the cuff may be reversed (over the outer garment sleeve?). 3/8” hems with very fine hemstitching which is even used along the underarm gusset seams. No side seams. Bodies joined onto a fine linen shoulder band with hemstitching, with a band on either side composed of half-drop French knots within a drawn-thread border. The sleeves are gathered with beautiful whipping onto the armscyes. They are slit at the underarm seam from midway to the hem, also hemstitched there. Casing with fine linen braid tape drawstring above the sleeve hem, which is finished with handmade lace, speculated to be Lille.

Long, fairly full sleeves set rather high on the shoulder, gathered at top and bottom. Band cuffs with button close to base. Upper body lined side to side, front and back with unbleached muslin. The selvage was used for the cuff where it was folded around to the front and topstitched down- fewer steps and thinner layers.

One remaining of two MOP buttons. Beautifully gathered, gusseted sleeved ending in cuffs remodeled to have a curved edge. MOP button at the base of the cuff.

The pleat is set at the top neckline and the bottom hem, so this would not allow for ease unless unstitched. CF edge, neckline, and sleeve edges are trimmed with hand-woven bobbin or pillow lace.

The proportions suggest this was worn with high-waisted pants.

Very short skirt gathered onto the bodice. Narrow bell sleeves. Lined with coarse white cotton above. Sleeves and skirt have a cheap red geometric print. Double rows of white rikrak braid on sleeves and hem. 8 white China buttons inside to receive pants of some kind. 10 inkwell buttons on the front, with white and red borders. Seem to be replacements.

Entirely hand-stitched frock or top for a small boy. Sky blue and tan plaid silk lined with white thin cotton. Long sleeves; front opening; slightly low round neckline; long tubular sleeves. Plain white pearl buttons down the front over a concealed row of black hooks and eyes; pleated frill down the front, shy of the top by about 2 inches, presumably because a collar or frill was worn with it. Waistband with short shelf frill or basque-effect. Back and front have narrow vertical pleats stitched across in 2 places to keep them flat; front has yoke extending to center front waist outlined in matching cord which is also used on the back yoke, top of waistband, and armscyes.

Lady's shirtwaist made from cotton fabric with woven stripes and printed with a black diamond made of four small pierced squares. Entirely machined with some minor interior hand-finishing on raw seam edges. No yoke, but knife pleats on either side of upper chest area, above bust just below shoulder line. Shoulders are set at true shoulder line with small gathers but no puff. Sleeves are long and slightly full, and set into a gauntlet wrist which lays flat. Wrist opening is trimmed in machined Chantilly lace tape. CB has two eyes to accommodate hooks for skirt, with two ties of self fabric that come forward to wrap around waistline. Bottom edge of shirtwaist is left raw with some small whip-stitches to keep it from fraying. High round neckline with small stand with buttonhole in CB to accommodate a removable collar. CF closure of carved MOP buttons under a hidden placket.

Both CF panels and down CB center panel are sewn rows of pin tucks, with a zig-zag row of vertical embroidery in between each row. CF closure of hidden button placket - black celluloid buttons. Waist tape is external, and may be tied in front and hidden by skirt waistband. Small stand collar. Sleeves are also pleated with small vertical pleats from shoulder, extending to just below elbow. Sleeves are 3/4 in length and have a fullness below elbow on the "outside" of the sleeves. Button hole placket is hidden on left side of the center front opening, but the buttons have been removed.

A pair of punched holes at base of opening but there are no others. Newly applied heavy soles. Pegged soles stamped “10.” Small stack heel. Illegible pencil marking inside top of one. The pegs come up into the inside so they must have been uncomfortable to wear.

Box (2) - Late 19th century box labeled "The Parisian" which looks to have been appropriate for a man's cravat; covered with green paper printed with tiny Mannerist motifs in gold, the title is printed in maroon Romanesque script diagonally.

Entirely hand stitched, made of fine red flannel decorated with scattered tiny embroidered “+s” in white silk. Eges of sections bound with white silk before joining.
