One replica late 'Windsor' style settee or bench. Adapted from a bench made by John Hubbard, a nineteenth century chairmaker who lived and worked in Boston, Massachusetts. It is of a style of settee made about 1848. The maker is Richard Knapp of Rush, NY. It has a plank seat made of pine; arms of cherry wood and the legs, stretchers and spindles of maple. It is painted a black-green as 'Windsor' chairs often were. The legs and strectchers are turned in the 'bamboo' style and are highlighted at the ring junctures with yellow paint. The bench has 13 spindles and six legs.

A 4-chair back settee with rush seat, and scrolled arms. 10 turned legs terminate in button feet. The 20 stretchers are straight dowels. Backs have 3 dowel slats and above these a double scrolled tablet set between simple dowels. Painted black, decorated in gold.

A sewing basket made of sweet grass. Basket has a lid that is attached to the back. Two handles on the side can be raised up for carrying. A loop and eye hold the backset closed. Most likely from the Southern United States.

One painted and grained tripod, tilt-top table in the country Chippendale style. It was obviously used as a sewing table as evidenced by a series of sewing bird clamp dimples on the underside of the circular top. Legs are snake foot design with 'pad' or 'slipper' feet. The piece has its original faux-wood grain painted surface in imitation of mahogany. The legs are dovetailed to the ballasted support column and further anchored to it by means of a wrought iron, three branched 'spider' brace. The tilt-top catch mechanism is of wrought iron and also original to the piece.

One account book kept by shoemaker Peter Kipp in Newark, Wayne County, New York. 1831. Account book records names of his many customers and the purchases they made. Some were cash sales and others were for trade. He also records cash going out for supplies, etc.

Shoemaker's or cobbler's punch. Hairpin-shaped rod the top of which is flattened as though it has been hammered so that the pointed tips would mark or punch an object.

Spring controls oval plate with corrugated surface, which can be moved in 3 different positions.

One pair of reproduction shoes (brogans) with black leather uppers made of three pieces sewn together with thread. The sole and heel are smooth tan leather, attached with wooden pegs. There is a leather insole. The shoes are straight (no left or right) and have squared toes. The soles have been marked with a starburst or daisy patterned maker's mark. 2004.008.34.2 has a third layer of sole that is cut off near the heel.
