Small advertisement card for "Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound" with image of Lydia Estes Pinkham on one side and detailed list of uses of compound on other side. Beneath fron side picture are words, "Yours for Health Lydia E. Pinkham." Marketed as a cure for "ovarian troubles, inflammation, ulceration, falling and displacement of womb and for adaption during the Change of Life." Pinkham wears a bar pin beneath her collar in CF. Bar pin appears to be holloware piece, in Arts & Crafts style.

Badge pin, most likely made by the Whitehead and Hoag Co., some time from 1892 onward. Center featured a piece of celluloid with the hands of a man and woman clasped together. Enclosed in a shell with edges turned over. On back are two wires - one for pinning and one for hanging a ribbon. Metal is most likely copper. Whitehead & Hoag Co. was from Newark, NJ. Patent on back stamped "1892." 3' long 1 1/4" wide

Badge pin has crossed American flags printed on celluloid plastic surrounded by decorative copper edging. There are 2 pins on the back; a safety pin to attach to clothing. The second, lower, longer pin holds a cloth ribbon or other informational material printed on cloth banner. These 2 pins are made from same piece of wire. Stamped onto the back is THE WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO. NEWARK NJ PAT OCT. 18.92 MAR 7,93. 2 1/2" long 1" wide

Sterling silver pin beautifully engraved. 13 tiny faux pearls are strung on a wire that loops down into 2 holes on each end of the finding. On back is a round hinge and older safety clasp. STERLING is stamped on one edge. 1 1/2" long 3/16" wide

Two large faceted jet glass balls cap the end of a tube. Strung between the ends are 4 gold colored spacers and 3 smaller faceted balls. From each spacer hang 4 smaller faceted jet glass balls. Seems to be some repairs; one large ball has been glued onto the tube and one dangle has a smaller, less decorative head pin end. Likely a mourning pin. Unusual style of safety clasp glued poorly to the tube. Tube hinge and c clasp 3" long 3/4" wide

Holloware bar pin probably rolled 10k. In form of a ribbon with taille d'epargné black enameling in center bar. The surface of the ribbon shows two types of stamping for texture. Tube hinge and c clasp of longer length. 1" long 1/4" wide

Mourning bar pin with primary material of vulcanite; a type of hardened rubber. Small balls of French Jet (glass) and one central faceted square stone of French Jet are ornaments. Tube hinge, c clasp and pin stem extends beyond the clasp and is thick 2 1/4" long 1/2" wide

Bar pin made from open wire work with engraved-shaped metal on top. Grey, crudely-faceted stone in center, prong-set likely made of rolled or plated gold. Early style round hinge on back with a wide c-clasp. 1 3/4" long 7/16" wide

Bar pin of light gold-toned metal frame. Inside the frame is a darker gold tone (brass?) diamond shaped trellis. Attached to this, in a line, is a row of tiny, prong- set blue and grey (alternating) rhinestones. One grey rhinestone is missing. There is a round hinge, c clasp. The pin stem extends beyond the c clasp. 2 1/2" long 1/8" wide

Bar pin made from and marked "STERLING" on back inside. Metal work of pin is very delicately rendered. Twenty-one clear rhinestones set into a raised bar, surrounded by thin wire zig-zag open work. The entire thing is surrounded by an open-slotted cage. Round hinge on back, and an early style of safety clasp. The pin stem extends beyond the clasp. 2" long 1/4" wide

Engraved holloware bar pin with a slightly convex surface. Front surface is highly polished gold or gold-filled yellow gold with decorative engraving in the form of 3 flowers, each center filled with a round gem ( 1 turquoise and 2 garnet cabochons) leaves and other textured surfaces. There is a gold back with a tube hinge and wide flat c clasp. 1 1/15 " long 3/8" wide

Bar pin very small in size. Gold-plated, simple design with small scrolls on either end. Gentle bow or curve in shape. Round hinge and safety clasp on back. C clasp with stem hallmark of "B" in a five-pointed star. This is the hallmark for "B.A. Ballou & Co., Inc." manufacturer of gold and rolled plate jewelry and findings, established 1876 in Providence, R.I. Small enough to be a collar bar pin. 1 1/2" long 1/8" wide

Porcelain bar pin in the shape of an oval. Hand painted with 3 orange roses separated by green leaves and both ends painted gold. Attached with 6 prongs to a similarly shaped piece of metal, also gilded with gold.. Round hinge and c clasp. Pin stem extends significantly beyond the clasp. 2 1/2" long 1/4" wide

Body of pin is stamped from brass. The stamping creates 3 platforms with one concave in center. Top appears to have been gilded but most worn away. Silver dove in center of pin is nicely engraved. It carries a leaf / twig in its mouth. On each side is an engraved flower, perhaps a lily, with a copper ball in the center and each of the four corners. The flowers are silver. Tube hinge and c clasp. Dove riveted to the back of the pin. Aesthetic Era 2 1/4" long. 9/16" wide.

Porcelain crescent shaped pin, hand painted with blue forget-me-nots and green leaves. Rest of pin is painted in gold paint. On back is a crescent shaped gold tone metal plate with 6 prongs to hold the porcelain crescent. There is a round hinge, c clasp and the pin stem extends beyond the clasp. 2 3/8" wide 3/4" long

Long silver lacey pin. Rhodium plating? Edwardian style with centered blue diamond shaped stone enclosed in a gold bezel. Possibly white gold and tiny sapphire. Might be a synthetic sapphire. Older style safety catch and round hinge. Pin extends slightly beyond catch. 1 7/8" long 5/8" wide

Bar pin of silver base metal strips surrounding a diamond-shaped, faceted red stone, bezel set. A center strip forms the base to 6 prong-set clear rhinestones, set equal distance along the strip. There is a round hinge and c-clasp. Notable is a very thick pin stem made of copper. It extends out beyond the c-clasp. Transitional piece between Edwardian and Art Deco. 2 1/2" long 1/4" wide

Bar pin stamped "STERLING" on the back. Demonstrates both Edwardian "lacey" elements and angular Art Deco elements. A central rhinestone is bezel-set along with numerous other, smaller rhinestones. Round hinge and safety clasp, older style. A transitional piece. 2 1/2 " long 1/2" ends 1/4" middle

Victorian love knot, possibly rolled gold. There are 2 snakes, one with smooth skin and one with patterned scales. There is a central flower with a prong set, faceted green stone surrounded by seed pearls. There are 2 seed pearls, one to each side. One pearl has been replaced. Back is hollow with welding marks visible. Tube hinge and c clasp. Pin stem extends beyond the clasp and pin itself. 1 1/2" long 1/2" wide

Jet mourning pin appears crudely hand carved. Jet is thicker on one side. Base finding is glued to the jet. Tube hinge, c clasp and heavy thick pin stem. 1 7/16" long 5/16" wide

This 3 dimensional Onyx bar pin is a mourning pin. Two ends have been carved to give a sort of faceted quality to the ends. In the center section is a grid formed by flat wires with a tiny natural seed pearl in the center flanked by 2 leaves on each end (their tops are textured and engraved) ending with larger natural seed pearls, each in a good setting, one to each end. Tube hinge and early safety clasp. On curved part of clasp is 14 k and a pin stem, which extends beyond the clasp. The front decoration appears to be riveted to the back. 2 3/16" long 7/16" wide 3/16" deep

Bar pin of undulating metal and MOP & Rhinestone flowers (2). Two sets of three leaves flank both flowers, with faux seed pearls, The center of each flower is MOP, surrounded by clear, prong-set rhinestones set in a pierced round holder. Tag indicated 9k gold. There is a round hinge and safety clasp, older style. 2" long 3/4' wide

Bar pin features in center a faceted, rose-cut pale purple rhinestone (amethyst?). On either side of the purple stone -- set by prongs in gold-toned cups, are eight sparkling rhinestones (paste lead glass?). All soldered to a brass plate. On back is a round hinge, wide c-clasp, pin stem is quite heavy. On c-clasp is hallmark of the letter "H" in a heart. This is the Hallmark of the D.A. Hart Co., Attleboro, MA (1910-1915), 2" long 1/2" center

Bar Pin in gold-toned, unknown metal type, in the shape of an anchor with various items soldered into it--three leaves, a star, connected by a wire of rope, which is missing on 1/2 of the pin. The pin is centered by a flower with a prong-set pearl. There is a round hinge and a wide c-clasp. 2 1/4" long 1/2" wide at bottom anchor

Bar pin made up of 3 gold-tone hexagonal beads ended with two triangular green swirl glass beads. Gold wire work builds up a platform for 2 pearls, 2 emerald green pastes and oval cabochon of the same green swirl glass. Royal blue enamel stripes adorn the top of the gold beads. There is an oriental or Middle Eastern look to this pin, it is clearly handmade. There is a early round hinge and safety c clasp. 2" long 1/2" wide

Bar pin of rectangular jet that has a chip on one side. 3 faceted round balls are arranged with a gold or gold filled stem. A clear faceted rhinestone is set in a cup decorated with slashes along the rim. The cup is attached to a post attached to the underside of pin. Tube hinge and a large c clasp are glued to the underside. Likely a mourning pin. 2 1/8" long 5/16" wide

Scatter initial pin marked "sterling" on the back. This pin reflects both Edwardian and Art Nouveau features with marcasites and milgrain edging. This is an early marcasite piece as bits of metal are pulled up over the marcasites to hold them in place. On the back is a round hinge and an early safety clasp. 1 1/2" long 3/4" wide

Bar pin of unknown metal and faux pearls across its length. In between the faux pearls are prong-set amber rhinestones, in metal cups. Both pearls and rhinestones are of a graduated size across bar, with largest in center. Round hinge and c-clasp. This pin is an imitation of higher-end examples. 1 3/4" long 1/8" wide

Handmade petite key pin of base metal gilded with gold. It is engraved with decorative designs and a bezel set rose cut glass red rhinestone. Tube hinge and wide c clasp 1 1/2" long. 1/2" wide

Mother of Pearl is carved to look like branched coral and is wrapped in gold filled wire. Some of the wire is hand stamped. Tube hinge and c clasp. Pin stem extends beyond the clasp. 1 1/2 " long 1/2' wide

Thin Silver bar pin. There are 3 small clear rhinestones separating the 4 sections of this pin. There is a leaf at each end and 2 slim ovals in the middle. The ovals are outlined in milgrain dots with larger milgrain dots down the center. Each oval divided in 1/2 by an even smaller clear rhinestone. The 3 larger rhinestones may be glued in but are also secured by swirls of metal holding them in a collet. On the back STERLING is stamped. There is a round hinge and a c clasp. The pin stem is slightly rusted...not sterling silver. 1 15/16" long 1/8" wide.

Bow tie pin with cobalt blue enamel over patterned metal, guilloche process, with hand painted pink roses and green leaves. Silver toned base metal was stamped with round depressions along the edges of the tie and knot which were filled with white enamel. Back shows crudely finished edges, round hinge and c clasp that looks like head of a safety pin. 2" long 5/16" wide

Bar pin marked STERLING on back. Arts & Crafts style with open wire work, fairly severe in style and centered by an amethyst cabochon (could be glass). Round hinge and c clasp. 1 7/8" long 3/8" wide

Bar pin made from copper with silver plating, some rubbed off on design. Five variously-shaped plaques engraved or carved into metal, spaced out across piece with edging, in delicate swirls. The design on the plaques is engraved flowers, leaves and curls. There is c clasp and round hinge. 3 1/2" long. 9/16" wide Late Edwardian

Bar Pin in shape of a key. It is hollow base metal, gilded with gold and engraved with leaves and a flower. A tiny red stone is bezel set. Tube hinge and safety c clasp. This new type of key was patented as early as 1878. 2 1/2" long 7/8" wide

Skinny rectangular bar pin, gold filled likely. A flower and leaf motif appears stamped in the center and a decorative line extends around the edges. A set of leaves is stamped on each end. There is a small damage spot. Round hinge and safety c catch. 1 13/16" long 1/8" wide

Bar pin probably gold plated (on side, gold is scratched off). There are three layers to this pin. Top is black enamel filling grooves in the top decorative element (Taille d épargne). Middle is symmetrical, raised, shiny perforated pieces, and bottom is a rectangular piece engraved with flower and leaves. Tube hinge and c clasp, hand made. 1 3/4" long 3/8" Wide

Multi-part pin has a central section consisting of a diamond shaped part with 2 ribbon-like narrow ends to each side. The ribbons on each side show a flower, with leaves and decorations. There are 2 diamond sections attached to the main section by small gold balls. The surface is covered with a picture of a bird, carrying a leafy twig in its mouth. It is very colorful, on a black background of tiny black tesserae. Each picture is surrounded by rope wire. There are decorative gold balls top and bottom of the large central diamond and surrounding the side diamonds. Several pink tesserae making up the top wing of the bird appear missing. The metal may be gold or gold filled. This is a micro mosaic pin, likely made in Italy. Tube hinge and large safety clasp. 2 1/4" long 1/4" wide

Sterling silver Edwardian style pin. Central stone appears to be rose cut (diamond?). 3 small stones on either side of large stone have slightly green coloring ( peridot?). 2 stones on either sides of pin have flat tops, possibly Old European cut. 1 5/8" long 1/2" wide Old style round hinge and safety clasp.

Brass bar pin with copper or rose gold gilt snakes on either side. Open work pin, with three faceted purple rhinestones, bezel set, and 4 tiny pearl cabochons, also bezel set. Some of the scrollwork in the middle has been broken off. There is a round hinge and c-clasp. 3" long 1/2" wide

Bar pin, probably gold-filled. A central tube is filled at both ends with graduated balls encrusted with designs made of twisted wire and tiny balls of gold. There is a central plaque on which is engraved a rose with leaves and possibly a butterfly. At top there is more granulation (beads of gold) and twisted wire-work decorating the outside of this plaque. The back of this pin is open allowing one to see the hand soldering . This pin reflects Etruscan Revival design. Tube hinge and c clasp. Pin stem extends beyond the clasp. 2 3/8" long. 3/4" wide

Victorian "sweetheart" pin. 3 discs with etched birds (possibly swallows). Discs have pinkish hue- possibly rose gold. Unknown metal for rest of pin, possibly gold plated. C clasp, tube hinge. 2 1/4" long. 1/2" wide.

Holloware bar pin, in the form of a buckle. May be gold filled with stamped designs. The stamped designs were probably once filled with black enamel taille d'épargne. Tube hinge and wide c clasp. 2" long 1/2" wide

Pearl bar pin, 10 cups joined together, each filled with a seed pearl (faux?). The metal is sterling silver. This is an Edwardian Era pin. On the back is a round hinge and a c clasp. Pin stem extends beyond the pin . Makers mark on c clasp "HB" and STERLING. Most likely Heintz Brothers of Buffalo, NY. 1 3/8" long. 1/8" wide

Bar pin probably gold plated or gold filled, with multiple sections, each with different designs cut or engraved into them. In some sections, black enamel fills the designs, a technique called taille d'épargne. Much of this is worn off. In the center compartment there is a crescent moon and a rose cut stone, glass, garnet or ruby? There is a tube hinge and a c clasp shaped like a hood. 1 11/16" long 7/16 wide

Bar pin of early plastic, Bakelite or celluloid, ivory-colored with painted or stained black surface. Carvings in the shape of vines/leaves show original color, set with 3 small rhinestones. C-clasp and round hinge suggest early 20th century. 3" long 1/8" wide

Gold filled bar pin with twisted design like a rope. The ends may be buckles. There is a center flower with a bezel set red stone with rose cut facets. Red stone is probably garnet. The back is flat with a tube hinge and wide c clasp. 3 1/8" long. 1/4" wide.

Rolled gold bar pin. It is hollow, made with rolled gold that may have been hammered or stamped out. Central plate has an engraved sunflower and leaves. The back has a plate cover. Tube hinge and c clasp. 2" long. 1/2" wide

Bar Pin of brass with small pearl in center of brass molded flower petals. There is a tiny hook on the underside for small dangle or perhaps a chain attached to a pin (stick) to keep it secured. C-clasp with round hinge. 1 3/4" long 3/4" wide

Bar pin or collar pin, framed in the style of a safety pin. This is likely heavy gold-filled wire. Soldered onto this is likely sterling silver wings and a heart. Each wing has 3 seed pearls, each fitted into a hollow depression and held by blobs of metal. The pearls appear to be natural. The heart is open with very tiny seed pearls, 6 of them inserted into the bottom of the heart, also held by bits of silver. In the center, collet set is probably a round, faceted amethyst. 1 1/2" long 7/16" wide

Bar pin oval-shaped. There is a copper-colored frame, with decorative edging. Inside the frame there are 3 clear, prong-set rhinestones, and 4 bezel-set cabochons of green enamel. At the ends, green enamel covered over tiny metal balls. The rhinestones are backed with gold foil. There is a round hinge, and a safety clasp. 2 1/4' long 1/4" wide

Bar Pin with dangles. There is a round bar, possibly gold filled with round balls at each end. Each ball is capped with an ornate cap, covered with twisted wire and scalloped. Hanging from 3 wire ropes are dangles in the form of amphora or Greek olive oil or wine containers. Eetruscan Revival pin. Tube hinge and c clasp. A long thick pin stem extends beyond the c clasp. 2 3/8" long. 1" wide

Pin made of brass in the archeological style of the 1860-1870s, with some components (rectangular pieces, small clovers) made of rolled gold. The tiny round granulations and the thin twisted wire decorating the top of the metal strips are the only direct connection to Etruscan jewelry. There is a crescent strip roughly surfaced, hanging with 10 pieces of turquoise in square bezels. Tube hinge and c clasp. 2 1/16" long. 1/2" wide

Bar pin of brass framework in a long oval. Three bezel-set faceted rhinestones spray across this brass oval, with 2 brass flowers with tiny pearls of glass beads. Leaves and vines cross the surface as well, in brass. C-clasp and round hinge. Pin stem extends beyond the c-clasp. 2 1/4" long 7/16" wide

Bar pin or "lace pin" made up of two different metal types---rounded outside border made from sterling silver, while interior frame is made of brass gilded with gold. Silver exterior frame is engraved on top, has open edgework along sides. Interior center of pin featured a silver diamond-shaped setting, in which is set a rounded faceted clear rhinestone. There is a 4-prong setting on this stone. Round hinge on back and early style safety clasp. Stamped on the pin stem, near hinge, are "F.P.Co." which is the mark of Ford, Perry Co. of Providence, R.I. in business from 1914-1922. 1 1/4" long 1/2" wide

Bar pin appears to be brass over copper rendered in Art Nouveau style. Ruby colored (glass?) faceted stone surrounded by swirls of wire ending in delicate leaves. C-clasp, round hinge. "C.T." hallmark on c-clasp, so pin is dated 1915 and onward. Likely stands for "Cheever, Tweedy Co. Attelboro, MA" 2 1/4" long 9/16" wide

Bar Pin of brass and rhinestones. Heavy brass wire frame. Narrow in center but flares out at ends. In the narrow center, 9-prong set, purple rhinestones are lined up. In each flared end is a long, repeating foliate decorative piece attached to the end. On the back is a round hinge, c clasp, and the pin stem extends significantly beyond the c clasp and front of the pin. 2" long 1/8" wide center 1/4' wide ends

Tiny bar pin, rolled gold or gold filled metal. Top surface is covered with tiny pits that make the surface more matte than shiny. Taille d'epargné enameling forms a symmetrical design in the middle of the bar. Tube hinge and long flat c clasp. 1" long 1/4" wide.

Bar pin consisting of copper metal frame with stamped chains on the horseshoe elements, green enameling, gold-filled circular cutouts, and clear, print-held rhinestones. Round hinge, and c-clasp. The rhinestones are foiled. Machine-made. Silver gilt covered some of the back base metal. 2 " long 1/2" wide

Engraved sterling bar pin. Art Nouveau influence. Round hinge and c clasp. Marked sterling on back and GCH, (G.C. Hudson Company, Attleboro, MA) a jewelry manufacturer from 1899 to 1913. 2 1/8" long 1/4" wide

Bar pin of unknown metal gilded in gold, possibly made entirely from an unknown karat of gold. Amethyst bezel set stone in center. Round hinge and safety pin clasp on back. Vine-like motif on each side of the stone. 1 3/8" long 1/4 " wide

Mourning pin of crepe stone glued to metal holders, possibly gilded with gold. The 2 small round stones are my repair, plastic sanded with steel wool. Originally, 2 black bicone beads were badly glued in place. It is likely that smaller stones were originally used. Tube hinge and wide c clasp. Thick pin stem 2" long 1/2" wide

This pin may be solid gold, it is heavy and there is no evidence of other metals. It appears to be stylized in Victorian Etruscan Revival style with balls on the ends of the bar and 3 granulations on the center motif. Taille d'epargné black enameling on both the front and back of the bar and on one ball . Some enameling is missing on the left ball. Detailing of pin suggests it was not for low end of market. Tube hinge and c clasp. Pin stem extends beyond the clasp. 1 11/16" long. 1/4" wide

Bar pin, gold-filled. The center, top-most area has taille d'épargne enameling in black. Its primary motif is the belt with a buckle. This was common motif during Victorian Era, as Queen Victoria presented Albert with garters, one encrusted with diamonds, as presents on their wedding day. Old tube hinge and c-clasp replaced by more modern safety clasp. 1 5/8" long 1" wide Hollowware, very worn.

Silver bar pin may be sterling although it is not marked. It is a palm leaf with a dangle bead. It bears resemblance in the fine quality of the work and detail of the leaf to George Jensen pieces. There are no makers marks. Older style round hinge and safety c clasp. 2 1/2 " long 3/4" wide

Bar pin of underlying metal of silver with gold plating Turquoise guilloche enamel in rows separated by gold metal. Mechanically cut lines on the metal under the transparent enamel. There is a round hinge and wider c clasp. The pin stem extends beyond the c clasp. F&B stamped into the back, for Foster and Bailey; an American company doing business between 1878-1898 and 1898-1951 under a different name but same hallmark. 1 1/2" long `1/4" wide

Center of pin is a crescent moon, with flowers and a bird that are lightly etched. There are two triangular shaped ends, with knobs on the edges. A 5 petaled flower and 2 leaves are raised from the surface. Tube hinge and c clasp. Pin stem extends beyond the clasp. There are 4 stamps: J.R.E. maker unknown. An anchor, signifying Birmingham, England; a lion signifying sterling silver and a C, signifying 1902. 1 11/16" long 5/8" wide

Bar Pin of equestrian theme. Sterling silver pin depicts a riding crop with handle and whip. In center of pin is the head of a horse wearing a bridle. The back of the pin shows the metal has been stamped, as it is hollow. It has a round hinge and modern safety clasp. There is a rectangular plaque with "Sterling" on it. Sporting motifs in jewelry were popular since the late 19th century. 2 1/2" long 1 5/8" wide

Bar pin is silver-plated copper. Central cartouche for initial is left blank. Other spaces are filled with engraved leafy (oak?) design with vines and swirls. Round hinge in back with a pin stem that may be handmade, and c clasp. 2 1/2 " long 1/4" wide

Bar Pin of sterling silver of heavy-shaped wire filled in with delicate filigree "lace." Outside edging wire has tiny, repetitive marks. Tiny forget-me-nots flowers and 2 green leaves are soldered in middle with one flower on each end. The petals are enamel blue/green, with green leaves. Round hinge and early modern safety clasp. Pin stem is stamped "STERLING E.I.F. Co." made by E.I.F. & Co. stands for E.I. Franklin & Co. at Attleboro, MA. Company started in 1874 and may have continued into the 1930s. 2 1/4" long 1/4" wide

Rolled gold 1/8" thick bar soldered with a trefoil on each end made of rolled gold hollow wires soldered together and cut off in 1/8" pieces. There is a stamped design on the top of each. There are 4 decorative elements arranged equidistant along the length. Alternating, faux pearls and pink faceted rhinestones in prong held cups is across from the trefoils. One of the faux pearls has lost all its pearl surface and the other one is cracked. Tube hinge and c clasp. (With a loop that keeps the long pin stem from poking you) . 2" long 5/16" wide

Gold filled holloware pin. Top is probably stamped rather than engraved. In the center is an ivy leaf with graduated arrows leading out to each side. There is a thin line of bloomed gold surrounding the arrows at each end. Tube hinge, c clasp with a long cover and a thick pin stem. There is also a large hook for a watch or locket. 2 2/3" long 5/8" wide

Handmade solid Sterling silver pin. Each end folded in and decorated with edging like the margins of the pin. A design of stems, leaves and flowers is engraved on the pin. Tube hinge and c clasp. There are three hallmarks on the back, the sideways anchor means made in Birmingham, England; the stylized S means made in 1892 and the lion with rai sed paw means it was made of sterling silver. 1 1/2" long. 5/16" wide.

Flat bar pin of plated gold over brass or copper engraved with leaves and ribbons. Tube hinge and c clasp. Pin stem extends beyond the c clasp. 1 3/4" long. 1/2" wide

Bar pin of unknown metal, possibly silver but it has no markings. A transitional piece between Edwardian and Art Deco styles. Lacey filigree and angular shapes are mixed together. There are strips of black enameling across the piece and center spread. Three faceted rhinestones are in the center which are prong held. Round hinge and c clasp. 2 1/4" long 1/2 " wide

Roughly oval shaped pin, probably once covered with gold. Open frame with stamped design on outer frame. 2 flowers with leaves rise from the bottom. 2 large swirls on the sides. Roccoco revival style. 1 3/8" long. 1 3/8" wide

Brooch has diamond-shaped brass filigree background, with faceted amber glass stone in center, prong setting, with brass dragon curving over the stone in center. C-clasp and round hinge on back. 1 3/4" inch long 1 " wide

Hand made flower pin, possibly brass, originally gilded with gold. On the back there is a tube hinge and C clasp. 1 9/16" long. 1 1/4" wide

Art Nouveau "alligator" clip. Sterling silver oval frame depicts a female face with long flowing hair and flowers. Outline of frame is made of flowers and flowing locks. The lady front is repoussé, probably machine stamped. Covered with a smooth back that is labeled "STERLING front". There is a very strong clip with alligator teeth. Could be a man's tie clip. 1 1/4" long 1 " wide

Ten-pointed Bohemian garnet brooch. Garnets are rose cut. Three layers of garnets are faceted and different sizes. Tube hinge and c clasp. Brass? 1 1/4' long 1 1/4" wide

Pin of rolled gold. Oval plaque with decorative edging, pebbled surfaces, and a long triangular shaped bar attached at the center which moves slightly. Attached to that is a "door knocker", also with some pebbled surface decoration. Attached at the bottom are round tubes that hang like fringe. There is a back plate, tube hinge and a repair of a safety clasp, the pin stem extends beyond the oval plaque. 2 1/2" long. 1 1/8" wide

Enameled pin, gold filled and engraved with many concentric circles in the center. A gothic inspired set of arches with delicate knotted vines surround that. This section/ring also has taille d'épargne black enamel. There is a final ring of engraved border, probably machine turned. The back is convex, possible brass cover. Tube hinge, c clasp and pin stem extends beyond the pin. 3/4" diameter

Sterling silver profile pin of a young woman with luxuriant flowing hair. It is in form of "metal jewelry", a French innovation. Probably cast relief. Art Nouveau Round hinge, c clasp and STER (for sterling) on back. 1 3/4" wide. 1 1/16" long

Rose cut Bohemian garnet brooch with gold plated wire work. Pin design is flowers set in basket. Garnets are prong set. Tube hinge with safety catch that seems to be repair work later than original make ( silver metal with sloppy soldering). 1 3/8" long. 1 1/4" wide

Generally rectangular filigree pin. Possibly Sterling that is not stamped. A flat wire very intricate filigree fills the space and is centered with an oval bezel set white opal that has colors including green orange and red. The opal is cut in a cabochon shape. The entire pin is bordered by a thin notched wire edging. There are four dots of metal extending above the surface of the pin. Tube hinge and c clasp. The pin stem extends far beyond the c clasp. 2 1/4" long. 1 3/8" wide

Oval pin consisting of a frame, probably brass, gilded with gold. A decorative edging is made by 2 twisted wires, one smooth, possibly gold, the other a wire made of tiny beads, possibly brass. A pressed oval plate of pot metal plated with gold fills in the frame. It can be easily popped out. There has been some attempt to enhance the surface with texture around the flower and leaves. Engraved lines, edges and other details are on the surface. There is a round hinge and c clasp. Pin stem extends beyond the pin. May be hand made out of leftover materials. 1 5/8" long. 1 3/8" wide

A large bezel set, oval stone, probably agate. Cut out and engraved leaves encircle the stone. There is a tube hinge and a c clasp. The pin stem extends beyond the c clasp. 1 1/2" long. 1 5/16" wide.

Scalloped circle with a banner that passes across and under it. Banner decorated with silver and pink gold leaves, vine and flowers. Each end has red gold balls and rope. The scalloped circle is decorated with rope circles. Banner and circle are probably gold filled, but the surface is pitted (bloomed gold) so it appears matte. The top surface of the circle is shiny gold. Tube hinge. C clasp. Pin stem extends beyond the c clasp. Tiny round hook on back. A small chain and pin would have been attached for added security. This is an Aesthetic Era Pin. 1 1/2 " long. 7/8" wide

Brooch made from multiple elements of metal--most likely brass gilded with karat gold, while some elements may be gold themselves. Two tubes cut on bias on either side, held together by heavy chain, covered in tiny twisted wire. Each chain ends with disk, covered in more twisted wire with three rose-cut rhinestones on either end of tube. On the back is a round hinge, safety pin clasp, with "PSCO" Plainville Stock Company of Plainville, MA stamped onto the top of the clasp. A thin chain is attached to a long pin, ball for head and twisted center. Extra support for securing pin. This is an Aesthetic Era Pin. 1 3/4" long 1/2" wide

Deep gold colored metal frame with micro mosaic glass tesserae in form of flower embedded into goldstone. The frame is surrounded by leaves and flowers set on small metal arches. The one-piece safety clasp and round hinge has probably replaced the original clasp and hinge. Although there is a later patent for the one-piece assembly of clasp/hinge/pin, elements of this brooch, such as the elaborate metal work, the ring to make it into a pendant, and the tiny tesserae all point to it being a Victorian piece. 1 1/2" long 1 1/4" wide

Brooch with faceted stone (Bohemian glass) held by 4 gilt leaves. Stamped gilded metal. C clasp and round hinge. 1 7/16" long. 1" wide

Dangle brooch is a piece of holloware. The top piece is a diamond shape made up of two engraved leaves top and bottom and scrolls with bloomed gold. Two raised forms build up to an oval disc. Inside this disc is an applied cross-like textured decoration with a flower centering it. Hanging is a flat dangle attached by jump ring made up of scrolls and a heart-like form. At the very end is a gold drop. On the back which is covered, is a tube hinge , c clasp and pin stem which extends way beyond the clasp. This is probably made of rolled gold. On the front are gold balls which may be a nod to the Etruscan style. Parts of this was machine made with hand finishing. 2" long. 1 1/8" wide

Pin in form of a belt. There is a center strip of flat topped Bohemian garnets and on each side a smaller strip of tiny, rose cut garnets. Tiny silver balls function to hold the garnets in place. The metal is likely tambac, "garnet gold", a high copper or zinc alloy (a type of brass) used in Bohemia for antique garnet jewelry. There are holes in the belt to allow light to shine through. Round hinge, clearly a repair from the original tube hinge. There is a c clasp. 2 1/4" long. 3/4" tall

Holloware, likely made of gold filled metal. It has repoussé decorations in the center, as well as beautifully engraved designs of leaves at each end. Shell like texturing fills the center. Back is enclosed. There is a large hook. Tube hinge and c clasp. Pin stem extends beyond the pin frame. 1 7/8" long. 7/8" wide
