One small broadside 6" wide x 9 1/8" high dated January 1, 1840. It has a negative image of a lamplighter in an urban setting with his ladder and torch. Below is a poem: Borne on the wings of fleeting Time, The gray old year has urged his way, To broad Oblivion's dusky clime, And his successor holds his sway. And may he bring our patrons kind, A store of blessings rich and rare, Success and wealth, and peace of mind, And favor from the smiling fair. May no fierce flames their domes invade, No pestilence ride on the air: May He whose scales the mountains weighed Make them and theirs' his special care.! And on this merry, festive day, We wish you happy all the year, And something, sir, would come in play To make our own good luck appear. The entire piece is surrounded by a very decorative border.

Land surveyor's field notebook, 1842-1847. This is believed to be a notebook of John P. Slayer, surveyor, he was shown as living in Newark on the west side of Vienna Street on the Gillette map of Wayne County - 1858. This notebook shows plats and descriptions of land in Vienna, now Phelps, Shortsville, Manchester, Palmyra, Arcadia, etc. Several pages have been removed.

Lard tub. Staves slant inward from base to rim and are secured by 4 iron hoops each with double rivets. Two of the staves project beyond the rim to form handles, one wider and with a round hole. Cover is cut out to fit around these 2 staves and has an arched handle with an opening to accommodate one's hand.

In pencil at the top it reads: Rochester NY 1877. The other side reads: Plate VIII / Residence of Thomas Leighton, East Ave. Rochester, N.Y. While the Cheney house no longer stands the Leighton House at 1399 East Ave. does (as of 2025).

Small 8-page Sunday School tract.

Two piece lock made from hollow iron pipe. It has a ring at one end with an arched piece of iron attached. A threaded hole on one end of arched section fits into a slot on the pipe forming a closed area. Key is piece of wrought iron with end bent to create a hook or handle. It is hollow and square to accept the bolt and threaded at one end, The other end is shaped to be held by the "Key".

Made of early Victorian cottons. Striped prints in madder and chocolate browns, bound in orange paisley fabric. Backing is made of of different squares of fabric in shades of brown and red. Hand quilted and hand pieced. Log Cabin design. "This log cabin quilt is especially interesting because it was done using the construction technique known as quilt-as-you-go, potholder, or more recently lap quilting. Small sections (blocks or rows) were quilted, and then all were sewn together to form the whole,. This made the quilting frame unnecessary. Log cabin quilts were enormously popular in America during the second half of the 19th century, Narrow strips, or logs, surround a center square to form each block. The design is simple and no templates are required, but at the same time, its is extremely versatile.
